THE PARALYZED MAN AND THE QUESTION OF AUTHORITY
Matthew 9:1-8
Four friends carry a paralyzed man to Jesus, desperate for healing. But before touching his legs, Jesus does something unexpected — He forgives his sins. The religious leaders watching call it blasphemy in their hearts. So Jesus asks them plainly: which is easier to say, "your sins are forgiven" or "get up and walk"? This Sunday, we sit with a question deeper than physical healing — the question of who has the right to deal with what's actually broken in us, and whether we've come to Jesus for what we want, or for what we truly need.

THE TAX COLLECTOR JESUS CALLED
Matthew 9:9-13
Jesus walks by and says two words: "Follow me." Matthew gets up immediately, no hesitation, and later throws a dinner party full of people just like him — tax collectors and sinners. This Sunday, we sit with the uncomfortable reminder that Jesus doesn't call the qualified; He calls everyone, and He's always been more interested in mercy than in who we think deserves a seat at the table.
